LAST EDITED ON Apr-10-07 AT 01:35PM (MST)[p]Anyone who needs to take the one-day Arizona Hunter Education course there is one available on April 28 in Kingman.

As you know every bonus point is important. However and if you're just one short of getting into that max bonus point for deer/elk/antelope/sheep pool then here is your last chance this year before this year's deer/sheep draw.

The class will be held at the Mohave Sportsman Club and goes from 7 a.m. until about 7 p.m.

One word of caution. There are no motel rooms to be had in town because of the Laughlin River Run. Therefore, you'll need to bring your own camper OR if you don't mind,I can provide you with "rooms" in our fifth wheel trailer(s) for the class.

To sign up for this class, you need to contact Dave Williams at G&F in Phoenix at 602-789-3434. You will need to have taken an hunter ed class in your own state AFTER to 1980 and have to FAX your card to Mr. Williams before he will put you on the approved list to those who I can teach the class too.

I can be contacted at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Good luck and good hunting!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-10-07 AT 01:44PM (MST)[p]John:

ANYONE who has graduated from a Hunter Ed class AFTER 1980 can take this class.

In other words, if you moved to AZ a year ago from Iowa, and had taken hunter ed there, you wouldn't have to take the full resident hunter ed class in order to get the permanent bonus point. You could take this one-day class and be done.

Hope this helps!

Oh, special thanks to Terry who brought to my attention that I had posted that you had to take Hunter Ed BEFORE 1980. Ooops, it is AFTER 1980. Sorry, and thanks for keeping me right!

Also I should note that Mr. Williams will not be in the office until next Tuesday (April 17) so don't panic if he doesn't call you right back.

Does NRA count? I took the Rifle Safety class here in AZ back in the Mid 80's When I went to the G&F to ask about my Hunter Education point they indicated that I had not taken the AZ specific hunter education class so I do not get credit for it. This was kinda wierd because I was not 14 at the time so I had to take the class in order to hunt big game in AZ which after I took the NRA class they accepted that as I am good to go before the age of 14 but I do not get credit for the bonus point.

To make a long story short, I have a very busy schedule and I can not take 2 - 4 hours a night twice a week to attend the regular classes so a 1 day or even a 2 Saturday class is great for me. If I don't get the bonus point I am okay with that, If I really want it I will make time during the week.

Thanks for your help

John
