I know it's early, but I have 2 bonus points for the combo elk/deer hunt. My friend that is applying, has only 1 bonus point.

What are the odds of drawing this year as a party???

Thanks for the help~

From my experience, your odds are excellent. We have drawn at least every other year for the past 10 years or so as a 3 person party.

Good luck

I would say about as close to garaunteed as possible. I've never NOT drawn with 1 point, let alone 2. Good luck.

They average your points, so you'd have 1.5 points in the draw. My uncle and his friend have also been drawn every other year for nearly 10 years. Maybe we'll see ya over there, we are due this year also.

If you apply through an outfitter are the tags pretty much guaranteed?

Outfitter tags are guaranteed, but you have to hire an outfitter.

Thanks for all your help guys! I have a buddy from High School that lives in Sealy Lake, near Missoula that is going to "guide" us! Archery...

I have two points and sure hope to draw a Combo tag this year. I did gat a alternate combo tag in 2005. That was nice and i got to keep my points to.

Maybe I could luck out and draw a special elk permit to. I got three points for special elk.

had a freind that was in same boat last year he did draw he had called dfw said his odds were 99 % myself I had another hunt planed thought I would get a point put in and drew it with no points second time I have drawn w /no points always draw with one so I would say you shouldnt have to worry good luck

Craig,
Have you figured out where your going to apply for elk this year? I was pretty hard on the unit I drew last year, but heck I did get a pretty nice 6 point, just had to find the elk!. I think that would be a good spot for a NR to apply for because the odds are some much better for a NR to draw. The odds on some of the other areas are really long.

I believe with a 1.5 point average you both would be considered to have 2 points.........they round UP but not DOWN.......

That was a major point for me in applying to Montana this year wth my son who has points built up and I don't as I used them all last year.
