Utah's Regions?

All right all you fellow Utards, which region you hunting this year? I guess that question applies to all you poor nonresident hunters that are coming to be converted into Utards as well:)

The Northeastern is my stomping grounds-not really by choice, but it's in the backyard so it makes it handy. I've been out scouting a bit and am afraid that my fears of the slaughter last year aren't without reason. Lets just say that I'm looking east of Heber and north of Strawberry. Pretty slim pickings for sure.

I think 10,000 of the Northeastern hunters must of decended upon the local area last year-gotta love Utah's management plan.

There were some great deer taken last year, including one 190 type buck, but I'm not counting on much this year.

So, where are you headed?

I drew Northeastern as a 3rd choice. Still have NO idea as to where I am going to hunt, so Im not counting on much this year either. Hopefully I can find an area where Im not surrounded by a million other people, but I guess thats asking a lot for the region I'll be in.

Whatever happened to the 25 units for deer plan??

I didn't like the restrictions this would put on a guy but I sure would have adjusted by now to the 25 units if they would have been put into place and given some breathing room from the crowd control.

covetted NE tag............mzzldr buck! ha

Southern Region

Unfortunately, All you need is a ATV and there is not a place you can't go in the southern region!
I actually hunt the pahvant and I'm sure it's in the same boat as the heber area after the 04' slaughter.

Just wanted to add that ATV's are the biggest cause of deer hunting being the way it is in Utah. Go check out Monroe Mtn in the Southern Region...thousands of deer with no place to hide from em. It is sad really. Every unit in Utah has been hurt by the increased motor vehicle access and nobody seems to care.

By the way...Central Dedicated for me!

I drew a 3 corners antelope tag, so I will be statewide bowhunting that area and call it scouting for goats. normaly would stay on the northslope.

Southeast Muzzy.
Got a ridge down there in the La Sals that I have consistently found good bucks, and I've never seen another hunter (only hunted it Archery and Muzzy, though). Now I just hope I can afford the gas to get down there.

Prism:

I took a decent 3x4 that went 160in the area your talking about. I couldn't get to where I spotted a couple potential 180 class bucks because of all the snow.I found 3 good bucks with potential, maybe we can talk about your area and mine?

Southern Utah for me. I have two good bucks I have found that are both well into there 4th points. Can't wait to see what they look like in August.
Bring on the 25 units in Utah. I would support it 100%.
