Hey guy's Iam from Kansas City Mo. I have killed 5 bulls ,the biggest 335 , but my dad and I are wanting to get a BIG bull . Just wandering what the odds are in drawing a tag in Arizona or Utah and what all i s involved ? Any help would be appriciated !!

MT.....IN BOTH CASES ITS GOING TO TAKE A FEW POINTS. I HAVE 13 POINTS IN ARIZONA & I AM MOST LIKELY A COUPLE OF POINTS OUT OF MY DRAW JUST YET. YOU CAN DRAW SOME LESSER UNITS WITH LESS POINTS & STILL KILL BIG ELK. YOUR BEST CHANCE IS WITH A BOW OR ML IN BOTH STATES I BELIEVE. HOPE THIS HELPS...(I WAS BORN IN KC MO.)............YD.

I would buy a landowner tag in NM. That will be your best chance for a 350+ bull. That is without waiting for like 20-30 years for a tag in UT or AZ

320 -350 is very doable in most any unit in AZ...350+ you will have to work harder for but they are there as well..... Terry

They are pricey, but if you want a big bull and do not want to wait. Hualapai Indian Reservation is the place to be, on most years a 370+ bull is not a problem.

How much is pricey? I know it is not cheap ,all of the out west hunts we have been on were through an outfitter . The reason being we do not live there and not know where the animals are at !! There are alot of people I know that say it crazy to spend 5plus to go kill an elk out state with an outfitter ,but these are the guys that take all of there crap out there and spend more time setting up camp and cooking than actually hunting with someone who lives there and come home with nothing .
I am not trying to sound like Iam loaded with $$$ by any means ,I am a plumber and my DAD is Docter and we each pay our own way his is just a little easier than mine . We own 2500 acres in nw Missouri that I farm and have some HUGE Whitetails on it . My DAD killed one 8 years ago that made the book both ways 210/7'8 nt 187/3'8 t . There is one buck I have wachted all summer long that will blow him away !!!! I was cutting beans and there he was bedded down 20 yards from the combine and never got up , the hopper was full so I got on the radio and got the auger wagon headed that way and told him to see if big daddy was still there ,and he just about ##### his pants when he say him . The good thing about it is he does not hunt and his brother is the local gamewarden ,and they are watching out for the local dirtheads that want to poach him. Our season opens up the 15 of november and hope one of us getts a ground check on this monster .

That joe comment is hilarious. Hualapai tags are 18k, first hunt this year out of 5 hunters 437, 418, 401, 381, 378. Second hunt out of 4 hunters 402, 399, 387, 375. Its expensive, but you will have a hard time finding a better place to kill a huge elk.

The Hualapai elk hunts are some of the most under-reported monster bull trophy hunts in the West, undoubtably in part because of the price tag. Every year sportsmen read plenty of stories and see video about the Jicarilla, San Carlos, & White Mountain tribal hunts yet do not hear or see much about the Hualapai successes.

Well AZ is bad odds, but the luck of the draw is what really matters as you can draw any hunt with no points. I would suggest some of the units with better odds as most AZ units have big bulls. The general rifle hunts will be the best draw percentages. PM me if you want to talk more.
