Here is my elk off of the Panguitch lake unit in Utah. It took me 10 years to draw and the hunt was very tough to say the least. I had located several big bulls prior to the hunt during pre-scouting. Prior to the hunt, we had a bad storm and caused the big bulls I had located moved out after the first snow. We found them again, but they were in a burn which was very difficult to see into to hunt. Over the week I saw over 75 bulls (most of them small) and turned down four decent 6 point bulls . The largest would have scored between 340? and 350?. Needless to say, I was disappointed in the size of the elk I saw considering the reputation of the area. Finally on the 6th day (plus 3 days of pre scouting) I returned and found one of the nicer bulls (330? to 340?) I had turned down earlier in the week. I had my good friends Cody Barber and Jeremy Perkins with me and Steve Hatch came up to help us pack it out. This was one of the toughest hunts I have ever been on. Although the bull I shot is not as big as my original goal I set for myself, I had fun and was happy with the outcome.

Congratulations on a really fine bull elk! You and your friends must have had a grand hunt and shared a wonderful experience.

That early storm was a doozie! My daughter and I were literally snowed off the Parker Mountain area where she was on an antelope hunt she had waited 7 years to draw. We drove past Panguitch Lake and over the mountain into Cedar City the next morning and ours was the first rig westbound on the fresh snow. To say it was a wild ride is an understatement!

Kilowatt,
Congrats on that bull. Utah was down in every unit this year. I waould be damn proud of that bull. I know 2 very legit hunters that shot bulls a lot smaller than that one.

Hooner,

Unfortunately, I am not the hunter, I am only the one who posted this from the e-mail I got that told the story by the hunter.

P.S. Cleaver name you go by, should have made it NOONER, then you could really be in with the "incrowd". LOL J/K
Welcome aboard here hope that you can handle the joking.
