Colorado elk numbers

How'd the elk hold up after last years winter? I've heard a lot of people saying the deer numbers took a huge hit, but haven't heard anything on the elk. Maybe that means they did ok? How'd the herds look on the hunts?

2nd season deer around maybell I saw lots of elk skeletons. Not as many as deer and 'lopes but still enough to tell me they got hit pretty hard in certain areas.

I have heard enogh dismal reports of all western Colorado ,that I am looking into other states for a couple of years and hope the herd rebuilds.
