I use to hunt elk there , saw alot of nice bucks back in the late 80's and early 90's just comming off of a few years no season . did see a buck on a cliff that we saw the horns shining and jumped out of the truck think nice bull! all of a sudden this mule deer stepped out and at 200 yds and 15minutes of amazement we guessed agood 35" to 36" buck.. you see that in oregon very often(ever) did see alot of bucks 28" class bucks around and above bourne(just out of the town of sumptner)remember this was a long time ago and in nov.but I'm sure there still some nice bucks up there. they closed some roads around there,so get a new forest map. check above bourne and the elkhorns.... good luck jakstr (jack)
