You have got to be joking!
That is right dead center in the wintering grounds for the White River and some of the Scofield elk!
Who the heck let THAT business liscense pass, and why???

I have been wondering the same thing. They built it this summer but it doesn't look like they have any adult bulls yet. I don't know much about raising elk but it was my understanding that by law they have to have a double fence to try and prevent wild elk from coming in contact and spreading disease. This place only has one fence and it is in a prime elk area. Chronic Waste Disease here we come.

Just to clarify some misunderstandings. Double fence is not required by law for an elk ranch in Utah. I built one a few years back. It does require special type fencing, (spacing is smaller at the bottom than at the top)

Also, to my knowledge, no domesticated elk in Utah have ever been found with CWD. I believe it is still the law, not sure, but all animals that die on a ranch are required to be tested.

I guess it just looks and seems strange because it's right smack in the middle of prime wintering grounds for two seperate major herds that gather there.

And wait till the wild herds show up and smell all that hay INSIDE those fences.....might not be a good thing.
