12B does have a few decent resident bucks, but it's best potential is a little later after the migration from the Pahnsugaunt(spelling) and the Kiabab, so pray for nasty weather.

how do you think the people pressure will be with 125 tags?how many do you think will be casual?i know at least one of them will be extremly serius {psyco} MDB

I Have Hunted the 12B Late hunt twice, both times there were only 65 tags, the first year we never saw another hunter, the second time we only saw two other groups of huntersn not sure how many tags they had, but they were not big groups.

Just now starting to sink in-that this is my first deer tag in 7 years. Drew Kiabab 4 times (2 early/2 Late). Decided to branch off this year and try 12B. Our Group has the 2-12B tags, and 3- 12AW Tags. Does any body recall what the weather did on the early hunt last year?

12b is my favorite unit to hunt as you can tell by my name, but I haven't hunted there since the AZG&FD split the unit in two. 12b is a good unit and has the potential of producing some huge bucks. It can be hot and dry one day and a foot of snow the next, so plan on any kind of weather. Drew a whitetail tag in Southern Az. my self.
Goodluck and post some jpg's when your done.

It started to snow the third week of october and we were forced to move to lower elevation. Then is when I started to see deer and good size might I add. It stopped for a couple of days and then we left. These deer started to move to lower ground but not all the bucks because I saw some a half mile south of the lodge browsing about 100yds off the road.

Hunted it last year on the late tag. The 3 early storms actually made the earlier hunt better than the late one, and with the extra tags they issued the harvest was substantial. Saw lots of deer, shot 2 nice ones, and good mix of crowds and nobody in the rough country. Check with AzG&F biologist Rick Langely who lives in Page, for info. Stay away from the chained areas/burns and all the yahoos on 4 wheelers. Every permit holder seems to have 2-3 helpers. take a look in the Chevron station (Fredonia)photo album for contest deer and you will see every size.Walk the canyon rims and you will see lots of deer.
