I am looking for tips and advice for me and my friends going on a DIY 1st season CO elk hunting trip. We have hunted out west before but we usually motel-it. We will tent camp in the Routt NF. Below is a list I compiled of supplies I plan to take. Please recommend anything I may have forgotten or good advice. I left the kitchen sink off on purpose. Thanks.

Whoops, that's 2009 season. I also saw some of these items are carryover from deer hunting items. We would quarter,de-bone and pack out. THanks.
 
yes u forgot a dump trailer to get all that crap back in 4-5 miles. take 2-3 days just to pack in your gear. i always forget enough tp. i have a large arse. justkidden, looks good and have fun
 
Extra gas cans for the truck, oil, and spare tire(s) checked, and add some more large camp rope.

As this is a road side camp, I always bring a spike camp also. I'm guessing most on this list will not do to pack in a couple miles ? go small and lightweight. Example a water purifier, bevy tent, backpack food, a lightweight sleeping bag etc. Most people only want to backpack in 2 or 3 days.
