I (FREAKING) DREW!!!!!

I beat the odds and pulled a coveted deer tag here in Utah. Was just gonna put in for elk, but thought what the hey, I wanted to see some new country and needed a hunt to film for Vol. 2 of the "Never Enough Western Big Game" DVDs.

I'm the proud new owner of a doe tag on the Weber Florence Creek CWMU!

Just couldn't keep the good news to myself

Drawing any tag in Utah is becoming quite the occasion....

Antlerless tags are a great way to check out a CWMU before using up some points, and my elk points are really starting to wear a hole in my pocket!

I bet we beat some pretty stiff odds.

It's crazy how tough it is to draw antlerless tags in Utah anymore. There's better odds for great buck hunts in other states.

We'll have to hook up and do some hunting. I'm gonna see if they'll let me bring my bow, if not the old Lyman Great Plains will get the dust blowed out the barrel.

Congrats on the elk tag Steve. I haven't been able to draw one of those in maaaaannnnnny years.
