Eberlestock or Kifaru?

I am doing a pack in hunt this Sept., could be up to 10 miles, and everything will be on my back. I have got this far with my choices, but have some specific questions, I was hoping you all, would help with.
Doing the research I believe I have it narrowed down to the Eberlestock Blue Widow, or the Kifaru Guide or Rendezevous. What I can see for advantages to each.

Kifaru-Lighter, more room, custom made, ability to have just a meat hauler and not get the pack and other gear bloody.

Eberlestock-More compression straps, more pack acessories available, more reasonably priced, ability to have the bow, bag, and pad all strapped to the exterior.

Does anyone know if you can strap a bow to the back of the Kifaru pack? What about bow, bag, and sleeping pad?

I believe it would be worth the extra weight, for the extra room of the rendezvous over the guide? Any negatives to a bigger pack. Thanks for your insight. WTA

I had a Badlands 4500, but traded it in last year for the Eberlestock XP-9 or "Blue Widow". Being exclusively a backcountry archery hunter, I love the pack and its versatility and I don't regret the switch at all. I wish I could comment on the Kifaru, but I have no experience with these packs, however, I have heard nothing but great things about the company. You probably can't go wrong any direction you go.

Don't forget to check out the pack from the Outdoorsman inPheonix and the pack from Barney's Sport Chalet in Anchorage. I wouldn't make a decision until you do. 10 miles is a hell of a haul for an elk on your back.

Although Eberlestock is a great company and makes great packs, Kifaru. I have had the J104, J105, new J104 and the X1. I now have the Kifaru Spikecamp and Longhunter Hauler and they are great. If it matters you are getting an American made product as well.

I have the Kifaru Spike Camp with the cargo shelf. It is a great set up. I can lash my Kelty tent and sleeping bag to it. A bow shouldn't be too much harder to lash on. The suspension system is worth it's weight in gold....... Terry

Don't overlook the Mystery Ranch packs. I have the crewcab and really like the versatility. They are pricey, but as they say- buy nice or buy twice.

I've had the same setup as AZstickman for 8 years. No complaints and still going strong. Might be a little light on capacity for your application, but if the bigger packs are anything like the Spike Camp, you will not be disappointed.

If the Kifaru is Custom built like you say have them add the stuff you like to it, like compression straps

?Here?s to the hero's that Git-R-Done!!?

I have the Kifaru Longhunter with duffel bag and have used it for 4 to 5 seasons now...drop camp elk and diy antelope and mule deer..DOES THE JOB BUT WHAT REALLY EXCELS IS THE SERVICE AND ASSISTANCE OF THE FOLKS AT KIFARU..I ALSO HAVE THE 8 MAN TIPI FOR MY BASE CAMP AND IT IS HOME SWEET HOME ON MY HUNTS...

+1 on Kifaru for quality and customer service. My dog ate hole in my Spike Camp, they fixed it without so much as a laugh.

I've talked with Mr. Smith a few times, and he is hardcore as a hunter can be, and I believe his products reflect it.
