does anyone have any pointers for hunting elk on the front

There are no elk on the wasatch front this year it seems. Been glassing and hunting them all year to no avail. Even now in the winter they are no where to be found. Seriously it really has been a tough year on the front and the number of elk over this side so far has been very low from my estimation of the last 20 something years. In fact I'd suggest that it's the fewest elk I've seen over this side in all that time. Around Parleys canyon the numbers have to be about half what they were in 2002. That's just my experience, but I've spent more time up that way than the average folk.
