Two days before New Years while traveling to visit my family.. and hoping to see you at Cabelas again... one of DWR's bull elk ran into the highway in Provo Canyon.. Ya... same place some dude ran a couple off the road a few days prior... Don't know about you, but it caused a pretty good accident... Two cars totaled and on college chick going airborne in a GEO METRO or something.. good thing she hit it last.. go figure.. Now.. I think.. that after I ran the sucker over... did I mention it was a fairly nice 5x5 and the body was the size of your pool in the back yard.. and after slaming my SUV into the cement barrier... and after spending $500 on my deductable... and after the $5,600 magic number to try and fix my SUV(good thing for insurance)... oh ya.. stuff was stolen from my car while at the yard... dumb luck I know... But since the DWR claims they are property of the state... and they sale said "property" to the highest bidder in certain tags.. I think they should... well pay for damages... lmao... ya will never happen...but I got u laughin, lol well maybe they should atleast put up a big fence, sign or something... lol Anyways, wanted to say hi... and miss watching my kid steal ur sons wheeler from ya... talk to you soon.. Good news is... wife(six months prego) and kids were all fine during it all and no inguries.

There was another big dead elk on the side of the road going up the canyon in this same spot on Jan. 2. Coulda been the one you hit, but it sounds like you were going down the canyon.

We all better be damn glad that none of the six elk "pushed" off the side of the road landed on top of a car full of folks. That woulda been a bad deal . . .

ya we were headed down... but talkin with troopers and the sheriff's... the DWR doesn't need to manage that area because motorists are doing it for them.. lol jk

I have filmed the same 340 class bull many miles south of that road and again many miles north of the road (winter/summer migration) two straight years now. He is a 6x7 with an unusual kicker and i have video of him in both places...no doubt it is the same bull. I was floored when I first spotted him on the winter range after seeing him in the summer. A lot of elk cross (or attempt to cross) that highway...it is a sad deal indeed.

Let's add another 100,000 people to Wasatch County...that is the solution to this!
