Facial Hair...???

This post may not apply to everyone.

However, The archery hunt is 3 weeks away and I am interested to see what style of facial hair you like to wear and the significance of it if any.

I like the goatee effect for archery and the full beard later on in the year. I think that while growing the facial hair it set's the stage and allows me to start focusing on the fall season.

After watching x-men a couple of years ago, I tried the Wolverine (huge bushy chops) up in Wyoming. I got skunked, it may have been because my hunting buddies couldn't stop laughing and scared all of the deer away.

Two weeks before the hunt starts, I dont shave at all. Just a family tradition. I normally wear a clean goatee and long chops.

Started the beard this week, who knows how long it will last as I usually shave it off because I can't stand the initial itch. I normally wear a goatee. I have never let the mustache grow because it is too thin.

Started my beard a week ago, by time the muzz hunt starts in mid September it should be sufficiently scruffy.

I try not to be supersticious, however I feel wearing certain types of facial hair at different times in the season is somewhat a luck charm for myself (All mental).

Back in the day, my buddies and I wouldn't shave until we harvested. My luck, I would look like weasel in the previous photo X 2.

Just started the goatee this last week.

For our group, its all about the hat. If you are having bad luck, switch the hat. Again, its all superstition.

I usually start growing the goatee a few days before hunting season and keep it until after all the hunts are over. However since there is less hair on my head lately I kept the goatee the last couple of years. I'm getting some pressure from the wife to shave it though. I'll probably go back to the old plan as I don't want to upset the applecart. It might cut in to the number of hunts I get to do! LOL
