I have enough points that I should draw my archery wasatch tag this year (9).. This guy hung out under one of my stands last year eatin plenty of trophy rock. I have always thought with a limited archery tag I would hold out for a 330 or better bull. I think hes pretty close, how about you guys? kinda hard to see his backs..

Trophy rock is a mineral salt lick that looks like a regular ole granite stone. You can buy them through Cabelas.

I'd guess a little under 330 but he has good width and tons of potential for this year.

Good luck in the draw.

He should be a good bull this year. And as it goes for what the bull scores I think he would go close to 320 but don't get too caught up in numbers if you like the way he looks take em.

I agree with the above post, don't get caught up in the numbers if you like him and get your shot. He is a great bull and I'd love a crack at one like that, but then again I'm used to getting cows or spikes.

I would guess that he would score around 310. He needs to add quite a bit of point length to hit 330 but he might get there next year.

thanks guys- I think this year he would be tough for me to pass with alittle estra length. I really like how wide he is.

whats up with this next bull- his body looks bigger and older than the first bull, but looks like he just quit growin early. maybe just a young bull?

some more cool pics- both of these bears are standing right on top of the trophy rock..

With a bow I wouldn't be quite so picky... a 320" bull (unless you have many large bulls) is a trophy with a bow... That bear is pretty sweet too!!! You coulda got both from the same stand! SWEET!!!

based on what i see out of that pic, that bull is 330 or better.

16 G1's
16 g2's
8 g3's
15 g4's
8 g5's

48 beams
46 width
60ish on the mass comes up to be 328 and a couple of those numbers are VERY conservative if i were to really guess i'd say 335

BB, I basically agree with you on everything except for the mass 9.8.7.6 is a little steep for me. I would say more like 48-50" on mass, and I have spread at 44(my weakest part on scoring is width). So I come up right at 320.
But like said, if you would have a smile on your face when you walked up to him on the ground, score doesn't matter.
Best of luck with him this year.

good luck! I hope you get the tag and how neat would it be to smoke that bull one year older!! Awesome!

ya perfectly legal but sometimes we attract more moo cows than elk. one of my cameras took pics of the same moo cow for 3 days 3 pics every 5 minutes there were like 600 pics of the same cow, she even slept by her trophy rock- I think she was a rock junkie!

Here was my guess G1 16,G2 15, G3 8 G4 14, G5 8 Beam 47 Mass 25 =133 per side =266 + 44 inch spread = 310 Give or take 4 inches

That bull will score better this year and when he comes in to your stand, My guess is he will be plenty big! Good luck and post pic's when he hit's the dirt!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-18-09 AT 09:19AM (MST)[p]I think your guess is pretty close..but like said before, don't base your hunt on score, especially if it is an archery permit. That is a bull anyone would be proud of with archery equipment, and unless you have a few other bigger bulls hitting your rock...pick a spot and start winging those arrows! Good Luck!
