My elk of 08...

I got both of these elk this past season. The first one I got on Aug. 21 with my bow. My first elk and first kill with a bow as well I might add. Been trying for about 7 years and finally got lucky. Had so much adrenaline and ws shaking so bad a shot too far foward, but got lucky and broke her shoulder and was able to put another arrow into her.

The second one I killed by Logan with my .270 on Dec.30 Last day of the hunt at about 4:30 PM. It was a hell of a hike getting up to it and getting it back out too! I really earned that one.

Congrats on your first bow kill. Any game harvested with the old stick and string is an accomplishment. Your hooked now.

Thanks guys... I was hooked on archery long before I ever got this cow. Rifle hunts are just not the same. Nothing's better than having to be right in the face of the elk you're trying to take or listening to bulls screaming at each other day and night.

Supposed to be getting the calf back from the processor anytime this week! I can't wait for it either. The 2 year old cow I got has been awesome, so that calf is going to be excellent! Should have just about enough meat until this coming season when the freezer will need to be filled again.

Monster, you best pull your head out and stop exaggerating.... You would think with those swarovskis you use that you'd be able to see a little better than that... NOWHERE NEAR 380... He was probably abou 43 wide and had real nice fronts and good, heavy beams, but his 4th's were weak... Like I said, 360 at best...

Congrats on your first couple of elk man, sure looks like some prime eating to me. And, any elk is a trophy elk, especially the hard-earned ones. -Cody
