Hi all. I need some tips on which elk unit to apply for.
A little background on me. I have little to no experience with elk or hunting for that matter but i am intrigued by the thought of it. Not really in good shape and i don't plan on getting in too deep but i have a BIG A$$ fourwheeler that will take me anywhere i need to go.
I can shoot better then most anyone. A 1000+ yard rifle shot, a 400+ muzzle shot and a 180+ archery shot is nothing for me and i wouldn't even think twice before dropping the hammer. In fact this year alone i dropped my first cow elk in montana at 987 yards! The Montana division of wildlife currently has the carcass but i'm hoping i can get it back soon as it has earned a place of honor on my wall.
What i want is a 400 plus bull and nothing else will do. I'm hoping that some of you guys can tell me which unit to apply for?
I don't have any points but i have heard that every unit in utah has multiple 400 bulls so i figure that drawing a tag in a lesser unit shouldn't be a problem
Thanks in advance
