Have 14 points this year for elk. Don't know if I should keep applying for San Juan Muzzy....choose a different area...or just what. What would you do? It looks like I could have a good chance at Dutton, Monroe, or Beaver with a muzzy tag, but don't know those areas. Your honest opinions would be appreciated.

All good areas, i'd put the Juan at the top of my list, Monroe at the bottom and start drawing straws

Based off of last year draws you will get a tag this year. Just hope nobody moves in to that hunt above you.

I had a muz deer tag on San Juan in 2000 got distracted a bunch by all bugling bulls.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-27-09 AT 11:11PM (MST)[p]I would put in for the area I knew, it sounds like you know the SanJaun, if so you should keep up with that. Knowldge of a unit is more important than what area has better bulls IMO.

I just checked your odds and it looks like there will be 3 guys ahead of you for a bouns tag, so you will be compeating with 14 other guys for the other 3 bouns tags. That is pretty good odds good luck.
