Just got put in for the first and most brutal round of apps. and I think my wife is gonna kill me this stuff is just expensive. Put in these apps in the last week:

Wyoming:
Elk w/bonus point option $641.00
Special Deer w/bonus point option $606.00
Special Antelope w/bonus point option $556.00

Arizona:
Hunting license $151.25
Elk $595.00
Antelope $485.00

Idaho:
Hunting License $141.50
Spring Bear about $12.00 after extra online fees

New Mexico
Oryx $12.00
Elk $12.00
Deer $12.00
Antelope $12.00 but they said they would charge me the whole thing before the draw?

Utah:
As a Resident

Hunting License $25.00
Elk App $10.00
Gen Deer $10.00
Once-in-a-lifetime $10.00

That comes to $3290.75 this week in apps my wife is gonna kill me! Oh yea i put her in for at least half of those hunts too that really hurts this year. Maybe when I don't draw refund season will be a little sweet.

I haven't been enslaved by marriage yet, but I'm going to be feeling the pain of applications soon enough. I'm in for UT already (resident), but I'm still trying to do a little more homework on WY, AZ, NV, and NM. I'll be applying in all of them as well.

Remember WY elk has only 4 days left. Don't you love buying hunting licenses in states you've never hunted in. I do it's kinda nice to help all those Game and Fish dept. makes you feel warm and fuzzy doesn't it.

>are you sure on that wyoming
>deadline?
The Wyoming elk application deadline is Jan 31st. The deer and antelope are March 15th and the moose, sheep and goats have a Feb. 28th deadlline.

Have a good one BB.

I have a good friend who's wife kept track of all his hunting, fishing, and golf expenses for the year. It gave her good justification to go spend close to 5,600.00 on what ever the bleep she wanted to.

I felt bad for him a little bit but you can't argue with that logic.

I have a seperate account for hunting, , if I dont draw the refund check go's right back into it for the following year. just add alittle every month to make up for those Licenses in AZ, NV, and Idaho, and im ready for the next year, and keep the CC in the safty deposit box till needed the next year also.

Takes a awhile to build it up, but most of us have been in the game 10-15 years already so you have alittle built up by now.

That's why I'm taking the wife on a cruise this week, so that I can go and spend what I want for the hunting thing this fall??
Works both ways guys!

I"m with Nochawk i"ve been doing this for a while.I have a separate checking account and credit card used only for all my hunting expenses.

I also have a separate account for hunting. I have had it for quite a while too - right now the balance is $8.41. At this rate I will be able to begin to put in for an LE hunt when I am 88, and I might draw when I am 103.

UTROY
Proverbs 21:19 (why I hunt!)

I thought that NM out of state Oryx had to put all money up front.

i think they did this with Bighorn, Oryx and Ibex.

Not for Oryx.

NMDGF,

Full fee up-front: Everyone applying for a pronghorn, bighorn sheep, ibex, javelina or Barbary sheep draw license must pay the full license and application fee when applying. Online applicants will be charged for the full license fee, plus the nonrefundable application fee at the time of application. Unsuccessful applicants will receive refunds.

It seems that NM takes the $12 app fee now and then after the app period ends they hit you for the full price of the tag then. so there will be 2 charges to your CC if you do it online.
