Colorado Unit #521

Help! I drew a CO deer voucher unit 521 second season at a sportsmans expo. Can someone give me any info on this unit? Is it a good unit, lots of deer or lots public land ect. Thanks

Yes, there is a nice deer herd in unit 521. I will be hunting there this same season. I will be hunting in between Electric and Sheep mountain in the west Muddy creek area. I think the success rate is about 58%. There is more than enough public land. However, there is some private land. So, be sure of where you are at. I was last there in 2003 and saw 30-40 bucks in 5 days time. 7 or 8 of them were really nice bucks and one exceptional buck. Your possibility of getting one are great and it could be a really good one. Good luck! Kill a big one!

That whole N. Fork area is good, 53 and 521. I turkey hunt and have bear hunted a few times up there. You should do well. What season ? I think 2nd would be best. Easier acces on the northern side. South can be difficult later with snow and mud. Good luck.
