LAST EDITED ON Feb-05-09 AT 07:21PM (MST)[p]HEY Guys,
Update us on the site on the convention and how the auction tags went this year in this economy ???

Just wandered if the economy was effecting the prices the Utah conservation tags are being bought for this year.

I have spoken with some outfitters that are really hurting on there potential bookings for 2009.

Thanks and God Bless

They were having a tough time getting bids on much of anything last night at the mulde deer banquet except the statewide colorado and arizona deer tags they were the big winners AZ was around 120K and colorado was at 74K i believe.

There were some deals to be had on some of the packaged hunts, africa, new zealand, and it seemed like the other smaller auction items were going for a lot less then normal.

Here are last night's main mule deer "governor-type" auction tag prices:

Arizona...$137,000
Colorado...$75,000
Nevada...$47,500
Jicarilla...$37,500
Oregon...$27,500
Washington...$15,000

Arizona and Colorado were in line with prior years. Nevada about 60% of last year. Jicarilla first time offered at auction. Oregon and Washington about the same. Wyoming and Nebraska mule deer tags went begging. Several tags went to phone bidders.

I know one Pavhant tag went for 26,000 last night and today it went for 22,000. I wasn't in there when the San Juan was sold, I thought stinkystomper said it went for 37,000.
