well I took another out yesterday got on one right away, spotted him over a mile away feeding, it was a 27 or better 3x3.

at about 830 my hunters took off for the stalk and while in process of the hike they saw more and more deer, all bucks I glassedthem to size them up to the 3x3 and found that he was still the best even out farther than these others

well I guided them using a the radio to the location they bedded, as one was getting close (within 50 yards) a rifle shot was heard and spooked the deer out of the canyon as we watched these bucks flee (3) we were surprised that they didnt spook any of the other bedded deer so we quickly worked out a plan for another stalk

as I guided them in to where they were bedded and I heard another voice on the radio which kinda shocked me, but knew who it was, my long time hunting buddy was also up there and he was watching the same deer, but didnt see the hunters so I drove down to where he was and poited them out for him and soon I let him take over the radio while I glassed to find no more deer soon the hunter was getting close and there came a pickup up the road we were watching on they stopped about a mile below us an started glassing (they had no idea hunters were out) soon we heard them honk 5 or 6 times and we were trying to figure out what the hell, but we continued to do our guiding and got one of them to about 5-10 yards and he was told to come to a full draw cause they were getting jumpy as soon as he came to draw they jumped and in the excitement he accidently touched his release and it was a miss these five deer ran to the bottom of the canyon we radioed for them to come in when the people in the pickup began to yell and another voice was heard on the radio the voice on the radio was one of the hunters dads he came up to see what he might be missing

we radioed to him to stop there at that truck find out what all the comotion was all about, he did and radioed back to us that they were watching 3 bedded bucks and were honking and yelling to try to get a better look of them. we quickly went down to where they were and found the deer and tried to put both hunters on them again they got close one could see antlers at 5 yards but he was hide behind a bush so there was no shot then for some un known reason, likely the wind, they jumped and got the hell out of dodge before he even knew what happened but he did get another shot off, at about 45 yards and he missed again

then we glassed the same draw to find yet another bedded buck up above where the five bucks were for some reason he stayed put, possibly some fawn instinct, so we guided one of the hunters on while the other took off after the 3 that winded themhe worked is way to them got within 3 yards of this buck but never could see him we asked him if he could see a white rock dirrectly ahead of him he said yes it was about 2 yards we told him that the deer was about 2 yards above it, so he picks up a small rock and tosses it at the deer and hits him he just lays there he tosses another and this time he jumps up runs out to about 60 yards and stops broadside, he releases an arrow and it finds its mark through both lungs and exits the deer runs about 100 yards b4 colapsingwe watched to where he went down and pinpointed that and then after the deer was down he found his arrow and guided him to his FIRST deer ever a small 2x2, my hunting buddy, the guys dad, and myself dawn packs to go retreive the deer,

here is a pic of the deer, small but a trophy by no means and as a first deer

Very nice, reminds me of my first deer.

They hardly seem fair...........guess that's why B&C doesn't accept the use of radio's in their fair chase afidavit. Of course that little guy wasn't a real contender for the book.
