Good NM "S" fee muzzleloader hunts

I am trying to find some good New Mexico muzzleloader hunts for elk that are the "S" fee type. I cannot find any in units I know. Any suggest some units for me to look into that are "S" fee types? Trying to accomodate some friends requests, I already have a good WY elk tag so I am only interested in good hunts.

52 is an "S" hunt .........

Yes but with draw odds under 15% there are way better hunts for the odds. Not worth taking time from my WY hunt to go. Good choice though.

I don't think they are "way better" and still have 15% odds. It's my belief these hunts have been fleshed out over the years and draw odds/quality have a direct relationship.

Jim has a cpl units we talked about a month or so back. Call and ask him about the units he and I talked about on the phone.

Unit 52 is only slightly better draw odds (aprox 7% better) then 15, 34 & 36, 16e is better. I guess that is actually twice as good but I would rather list some great choices at 8% then 52 at 15%

"S" is fee type. Cheapest

You've done this before Don , either pick out some units that you want and or already know some, don't worry about the size of bulls or throw your name in the big bull units and roll the dice! Every year it changes some from what unit has better odds or more bulls taken but it does stay generally the same other than a few numbers!

Your dad was down here on the same exact hunt I was on and he didn't have good feed back , but we had a great hunt, were in elk every day after the opener. Fransisco heard the same exact thing as every other year, hunters wanting to know where are the elk , hunters every where so on and so on.You know how to hunt here, just pick your units and get off the beaten path....whether it's 52 or 15...

Not that simple, partners not willing to put in for HD or Q hunts, I have a good tag so I am not leaving my great WY elk hunt to hunt a lessor unit in NM. I have followed many units in NM but not all, thus I am trying to see what options are out there.

Trying to find a hunt that meets my friend requirements without being not worth me leaving WY (hunts overlap) is tough that is all.

I had units picked but then NM announced errors and all my choices except one went from "S" to HD or Q, so I need a new plan! Might just apply rifle but I would really prefer to hunt ML.
