2009 - $62,000; 2008 - $172,000 (down 64%)

Appears the economy is impacting EVERYONE and obviously less money available for habitat enhancement and wildlife management programs at a time when state wildlife department budgets are under getting whacked. Total loss of revenue on these 5 tags alone is $282,500.

And attendance this year at Ft. Worth (as opposed to Reno) is way down.

All charity is hurt in bad economic times. Sad thind is that's when it's most needed, at least the people type charities.

I think landowner tags are going to get cheap too, when guys are still sitting on them with the season approaching.

Our banquet is on 8/22 I'm hoping things are a little less bleak by then.

I think you're right ElmerFudd. The price of landowner tags has been ridiculous the last few years. I'm seeing alot of outfitters dropping their prices already. I hate to see the economy in this condition, but I think it was time for some correction. The hunting and housing industries are just two of the many areas that got out of hand.

I agree with the above and when this draw season is over, I'm betting the draw odds in all states that require up front $$$ will be significantly increased.

Saw the same thing happen at the Hunt Expo. Funny thing was they kept saying "Last year this tag went for....". I kept saying, "Last yeat most of these folks didn't lose +50% of their money in the stock market and real estate."

I, too, am betting that by the end of July there will be some screaming deals on some hunts.

Speaking of Management Programs and Habitat Enhancement... I live in Utah and I saw a BRAND SPANKING NEW CHEVROLET, 2009 MODEL WITH A BIG FAT "UTAH DWR" ON THE SIDE OF IT a couple weeks ago... Now I know where the money from the SPIDER-BULL went... By the way, this truck was not stock, it had a lift, custom tires and rims, all kinds of upgrades on it... So if that's the kind of "Habitat Enhancement" you're talking about, then I guess that is where ourt money goes... :p LOL
