I killed a banded buck

This past weekend I shot my first and am sure my only banded buck. I can't kill a dang duck or goose with a band, so the second I laid eyes on this buck, I had to got after him.
There was a bigger four point in the canyon, but I had to kill "the band".
Long story short, good buddy glass the stalk and helped me get right on top of him. Thirty yards, and steep down hill. Twenty yard pin through the lungs, and he piled up not a hundred yards.
I called the number on the radio collar and the biologist was pretty cool. He asked me where I found it, and I told him on my dead buck I just killed. I thought he would be mad, but was cool about it. Told me where he put it on and when, I figured he would ask for it back, expensive you know. I guess my buck had a cheater last year and none this year.
He is 23" wide and tall, four inch eye guards and pretty heavy. Won't quite make P&Y, maybe next year. Biggest with a bow to date.
Lost my camera, got some video, but don't know how to pull a picture off the tape, when I figure that out, I will post a pic.
Was a blast and now I only have five tags left.
Any one else shot a "banded" Buck?

Congratulations on your successful hunt.

Collared deer are just as legal as all the others but if you are at all concerned about money for F&G budgets, try to shoot uncollared animals. It costs alot of money to capture and collar deer and the data collected from those collars is important.

I work will a guy who shot a radio collared brown bear over on Admiralty Island. I was in season and he had a tag. Well, he brought the hide home and stuck in in the freezer with the collar. Well, Fin-Fur&Feathers shows up at his front door inquiring about a missing radio collared bear. He fesses up and they get collar back.

He'll never live this one down!!!!

How far had he migrated, lol.
Pretty cool, I'd shooted one with jewelry over one without too!
What were the markers on it, color, etc?

I killed him in Utah. The collar was white, and had a radio frequency on it 150 something. He had only gone a few miles from where he was collared. And, no I was never concerned about he money, although I don't mind giving it back.

I have a picture on my trail cam of a collared buck, up Logan Canyon. Were you in that area? If so I can email you the picture.
