Never Enough...

Hey, just wanted to send a thanks out to Paul (aka PRISM) here at Monster Muleys. I recieved the "Never Enough Western Big Game" DVD yesterday in the mail. Talked my wife into letting me watch it... because it was only like an hour long. Well, needless to say, after 2+ hours of me sitting in front of the TV mesmerized, she wasn't a happy camper.

The hunts on this video are great and are the type of hunts I can relate to. Most of the videos I own (Eastmans) are good videos, but usually too short (4-5 hunts) and you have to listen to Mike. LOL. This video was like I said, in excess of 2 hours, contained probably 15+ hunts (I lost count) and you don't have to endure the demeaning narrator telling you how to hunt or that his way is better. Also, some outstanding kill shots on here(although I have to admit... a few of those shots leave you thinking "where was that guy aiming?".)

Anyway, if you haven't seen it, click the link on the left and pick it up... it's good stuff.

Lucas,

Glad you liked the DVD. Sounds like you need to watch a chick flick with the wife now. Maybe something with Brad Pitt in it:)

I'll admit there were a few wild shots, but that's how it happened. We didn't want to edit out the hunt, and how things really went down.

One thing I've learned from my own misses and watching a lot of others miss shots is that 90% of missed shots are high. Shooting up and down hill at extended ranges (300 yards plus) is difficult. I promise to do better this year:) Aim low is the last thing I'm gonna be thinking about when I squueeeeezeee the trigger. Of course the best shot on the DVD I didn't get, the Wyoming buck. I aimed about a foot high on that shot and drilled him, but he was pushing 450 yards, and on a slight angle. Luckily I have witnesses on all of my 400 yard plus shots, but also some witnesses on some MISSED chip shots-oh well that's hunting!

Good luck this fall! Paul

LAST EDITED ON Sep-07-05 AT 05:45PM (MST)[p]I'm just giving you crap... no worries. I started muzzleloading and 300 yards is a little farther than I'd try. Even when I rifle hunted I rarely shot at that distance... but I know it's possible. Shot a cow elk at 350 last year with my friends 300 Rem.Ultra.

I'm actually glad you put them in there... makes you know, nobodys perfect. And it's not always as smooth as some shows want you to believe...

And the chick flicks... nah, can't I just give her a little action and call it a day?

I agree! I've watched mine 4 times now and I like it better each time. There is even a Quazi moto deer on the DVD, if you know what that is! LOL

Get it if you haven't already. Lots of hunts for all types of game. A really fun and exciting DVD

His eye is whacked. I think it must of been a birth defect. I'd sure like to find him again and get some footage of him a year bigger. In a couple more years he may be worth taking just for the weird eye. I'd like to see a taxidermest put that one back together.
