I will be hunting elk for my first time this fall end of october early november. I will be in Colorado zone 62. I will be shooting a 300RUM. Looking for any advice I can get.
You'll have a lot of company, 62 is one of the most popular OTC units in Colorado. You'll have better luck if you get off the roads and do some hiking. Be prepared for any kind of weather, from sunny and 60 degrees to blizzard conditions. The side roads can turn into a greasy mess pretty quickly. If you see a legal bull, shoot it.
