Congrats to your friend on his Buck, but why no smile? Cheer up and show us a smile.
Just talked this evening to a friends wife and she told me that he was headed back home here in North CA and got his Bull Elk and had a great hunt and wants to go back to B.C. again.
Hope to talk with him this weekend after he gets rested up and back to normal pace.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-19-05 AT 10:45PM (MST)[p] This was the buck that I was lucky enough to find on opening day in the interior of BC. He was taken at about the 5000 ft mark just below a stretch of timber that let to the alpine. I first seen him feeding his way towards the timber and was able to get about 100 yards closer before I ran out of cover and time, I found a good solid rest and with 1 shot from 350 yards through the lungs he went about 50 yards downhill and that was it. He is 28 inches wide and the taxidermist I use put a quick tape on him when I was there. He came up with a tally of 194 1/2 net non-typical. His mainframe gross score was roughly 188 with about 5 inches of mainframe deductions, but those extra points on each side really kicked the crap out of his typical score.

He is my best buck to date and I couldn't be any happier with him. A big thanks to Steve for posting the pic's for me. Well back to revisiting all the spots I have found in past years to see if I can't come up with another big one this year. probably not but a guy has to dream eh....lol.

This picture was taken when i got back to town as I had forgotten the camera for second year in a row.

Great buck. At first glance it looked like it had double droptines. Until I looked closer and saw that he is starting to lose his velvet. How are you going to have it mounted? With or without the velvet.

What a great buck! congrats!

Kirby

When in doubt, floor it.

Diplomacy is the art of saying "nice doggy" until you find a big stick.

WoW!! Can't believe all the big bucks you guys come up with every year. Awesome deer, congrats!

257,
BC has always been a powerhouse in producing big bucks. It's just in the age of the internet that you are now hearing about them. BC still has many, many monsters harvested every year that no one ever hears about. The racks get thrown out in the woodshed and are pretty much forgot about. Just a difference is mentality as most people here do not hunt for antlers but rather hunt for the meat.

Awesome Buck! I agree with dakotakid, where is the smile?? We will start calling you OSOK :)

OSOK,
At least Shane isn't blowing kisses at the camera ;)

Shane,
How long are ya working in that country? Make sure to call me if you hunting here in Region 3.

WOW!

And did you say you're trying to get another? You can take two deer a year? I'm moving up there!!

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.
