Finally drew tag for the Dutton. It's been a long time waiting. The wait was worth it. Know this area is tough to hunt with a bow, but got a good feeling about it. Could use any information any one would like to share about the area. Won't be able to scout prior to season.

Yea I got some advise - get your happy a*% in shape. It is a steep, brutal area. Have horses!

Good luck!

I hunted it in 07, you can send me an email or ring me if you want. I will PM you my information.

first off the wait is never worth it!

the area is tough to hunt so get away from the road

Last get out and scout you waited a long time for this hunt dont waste it.

good luck

You might wanna turn that tag back! It aint gonna be the best of years to hunt the dutton. All the bulls were killed in 2006 when moss had his run at Utah! Now there's just nothing over 150 left in utah anymore. Just ask bobcatbess, he's watched the declining herd from the get go!

Looks like I got the late tag on the Dutton. Would like to know how your hunt goes Stinky. You have the early any weapon right? I remember KTC's posts about the hunt last year. I think you guys will do good.

That is correct. The late hunt is much later but pro can probably help you much more than I can but I will help all i can.

oak,

I think you and stinky have very good tags. I like Dutton....with a gun. I have spoke to too many archers who just have a rough time on Dutton. The terrain is one thing, but the ending date this year coupled with the full moon will make the archery nothing but tough IMO. I hope you do well elkrunner my previous posts were all in fun.

I have some very close buddies with tags this year so I will be up to my eyeballs helping. I just cannot escape the place.;-)

I had a Dutton archery tag last year, and yes it was a tough hunt physically and mentally, but I had a blast and I would take the same tag this year in a heartbeat! There were 4 in my camp with LE archery tags, 3 took shots at 340+ class bulls with one connecting and taking home a 350 bull. I never pulled my bow back, but I had numerous 340-370 class bulls within bow range. Get away from the roads, stay out all day, and remember to have fun!

As Stinker has said on another thread, I've got one of these Dutton bow tags too and can't wait to hump those hills with the rest of you bow crazies. And remember guys, nothing really worthwhile comes easy and I'm certain that will prove true in spades up on the Dutton for stick and string guys. I can go home a real happy and blessed camper just for the experience of doing it, and if there's blood on my stick, so much the better. Now for one of the hardest parts....no sleeping going on here for the next 4 months....but lots of sweating!! YeeeeHAWWWW!!!

ktc no worries. I know you guys here love to sling the bull. Working my tale off for that mountain. Like proutdoors said they got their chances and all get mine. Any body know of a packer that I could contact that has horses? Good luck everybody.
