Kody and others that know SW desert for elk,

My hunting partner drew the muzzleloader hunt for SW desert and I will be in charge of getting us ready for the hunt as I spend more time in the woods each fall. We will be scouting during the rifle hunt and will hopefully get things figured out as we go. Since we will be hunting after you, any thoughts on where to be looking and what maps outside of the BLM would be useful. We are the lone non-resident tag and would take any help we can get.

Peakfreak I drew the permit on 7 points. My father drew a muzzy in 2007 on the peaks and took a nice 367 bull on day three. I've waited seven years to draw this tag, I plan on spending all summer on the unit. As you well know the peaks doesn't lack any big bulls, it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Mountainsky, I would be glad to share any info with you, I have spent alot of time on this unit guiding elk hunts and killing coyotes. I'd love to help you out any way I can even if that means showing you around the unit. Send me a pm with your contact info.

Oh you poor thing, you've waited 7 whole years to draw the tag. I have 13 points and still didn't draw. I hope you realize 7 points aint chit and you are very fortunate to have drawn a tag. Good luck with your hunt.
