just drawn out for the wasatch early bull, I have a 300 win what size of load should i use? i hunt dear with 150 grain, would i use the same for elk?

I'd bump up to a 180 premium grade bullet, more energy, those elk can take some lead. That 300 win. will push it fine.

In a .300 win mag, I like 180 grain bullets. Go with a premium bullet like a triple shock or nosler and you won't be sorry.

If the 150 is a ballistic tip I wouldn't use it. I personally shoot the barnes mrx 180 grain for both deer and elk. I've taken two elk and a deer with one shot each. The deer was a 408 yd shot and he didn't make it more than 30 yards. Both elk were 118 yards and didn't go more than 40 yards. BTW the elk were on a cow hunt I took my younger brother on for his first big game hunt. He used my gun, shot his cow and handed it over to me and I shot mine.

I just bought a 300WSM and plan to load Nosler Accubond.Either 165 or 180 for elk, depends on how they shoot.

The accubond shot well out of my 300 wsm, but the barnes mrx I mentioned above got better grouping. The accubond would be my second choice if I couldn't get the mrx.

thanks to all that took the time to give me ideas i hope all your hunt are a succces thanks again Mike
