SW Desert Muzzleloader hunt

I have not posted much on this site, but enjoy all that you guys do. My hunting partner drew a SW desert muzzleloader tag and I am trying to get some leg work done early. He is the one non-resident tag and any help or thoughts from the locals, we would really appreciate it. At this point, I have been in the unit once and just have the BLM maps for the area. We can't wait to be down there in September. If all goes well, we will make one scouting trip prior to the seasons. If there are some maps that are better, I am all ears.

Thanks for the advice. I have spend a little time on the Nevada side and watched a few bulls, but need to put some time in down there.

What kind of bull are you looking for? Lots of ok bulls, but you will have to do your homework. Have spent many years on the unit, every year is different. Should be fun, the Muzzleloader hunt has been one of the best, on this unit, the past few years. Good luck!

We are hoping for something over 350 and will try to see what our pre-season yields. We will have a few days before the hunt, but not as much time as I would like. We are hoping for a little luck as well. Since he will only get one shot at Utah, we are hoping to be a little patient. Thanks for your thoughts.

Mountainsky. Antler growth looking good many bulls finished accept mass. And still alot of bulls only out to 3's if i can figure out how to post still shots and live video i will post for you.

Make sure you have a GPS to find your way out of the cedar jungles down there, holy cow they are thick!!

It's a good unit with some great bulls, still kicks a few monsters from now and then.

I wish we could find some time and get down there for a few days before the archery hunt. We really appreciate the updates, Brad is getting excited and anxious.
