Well let's just say the antlers aren't quite what I had hoped for, but I had a good hunt, saw lots of deer, we took two bucks, and overall had a good time. The first day out I saw a nice 2x3 in velvet still that was about 20" wide, couldn't get on him though. We didn't see any bucks that were the stuff of the stories of the Buckrun ranch, I think the rancher put us in spots where the big boys weren't and the does were a plenty. I'll send someone pics to upload if they want, I can't figure out how to resize them small enough to get uploaded. I ended up with a small 2x3, my buddy a 1x2, I knew going in that this wasn't my trophy hunting year, that's next year!

The success isn't alway's measured in "Horn Size',but the experiences, and memories that you make & build while afield. It sounds if you had a very great experience, and tasted some success while doing it!Congrat's on a fine trip!!!

No Gut's...No Story!!!

Sounds like you had a fun time and got some meat for the freezer. Will be waiting for some pictures.

Nice going Ridge. Congrats! Nothing like getting away on a hunting trip with friends. Just like Widowmaker2 said, success isn't always in the size of the anlters, it's the experience, etc. while trying to get those antlers. As far as I'm concerned, meat in the freezer is just as successful as antlers on the wall.

Now it is time to start concentrating on that bear!!!

congratulations
love that open country

what tag did you get that let you hunt with rifle this early
in Wa?

Brian,

Nice job! If you had a great time and came home with meat, its hard to complain. With an early hunt like that, and having to go where the land owner dictates, I think you did pretty well. Now its time to slice and dice! Good eating!

Ridge.....congrats on the deer man. Just got back from Wyoming on Fri. and just now saw it. I'm sure you guys had a blast.

Congrats ridge. There are lots of deer in buckrun. I look forward to next week.

Nice job on the bucks. I have a hunting report from the pasayten from Darwoods camps if anyone is interested. 7 bucks taken out of 44 hunters. Lots of shooting I guess, but not uch meat. "Darwood was impressed with the horn size though". Sorry, I don't have any pics. Be sure to check out my Dads moose in the moose forum under Idaho booner.
Again, great job on filling the tags.

Thanks for the Pasayten report, I think this year the high hunt was a pretty good success, I guess I'll see the pics at the sportsman shows in January.

Nice animals, too bad your season is over in only one day.
Thanks for the info on my late hunt, I am getting pretty pumped.
