I have been hunting coues with my bow for the last couple of years, with no luck yet. This year I drew a rifle tag for the Oct. hunt. I hunted the Dec/Jan season with my bow and saw most of the bucks in lower elevation. I will be scouting my unit the next 3 weekends and would like some info on where to start looking. Will the bucks be in the same areas or should I scout up high? Any info would be appreciated. I found this forum about a month ago and I've learned quite a bit from reading the posts.

Tom, I'm not sure where you're hunting, but you will generally see bucks in October near their summer feeding and bedding areas, whereas in December and January they are probably moving into areas with higher concentrations of does. In short, find a buck early, babysit him, and you'll probably find him in October.

Venado muy grande!

Thanks RandyWeaver. Since that was my first post I wasn't to specific on what unit I am hunting I didn't want anyone to think I was looking for there honeyhole. I will keep in mind what you posted on my next scouting trip. Thanks again, Tom.
