Tooth data back for Elk

Like most of you guys I also thought it was a 6 year old bull maybe 7.. I was shocked when the guy told me it came in as a reliable 9 year old bull.

I think it is pretty neat to get the ages back. My wife's bull was 10 and mine 11.

Very nice bull 03 regardless of age.

My brothers bull that scored 440 + was only 6 1/2 years old..

Isn't that crazy one bull can be 9 1/2 and be in the mid 300's and the younger 6 1/2 is in the mid 400's, talk about differences in genetics!!

Goes to show you that genetics and moisture play a much bigger role than one may think.

Not to high jack this thread but I'm curious what the oldest bull on record has been aged at?

Scores 320. I didn't think it was going to be that old either. But like people have said genetics play a huge role on elk size.

I finally got my tooth data from my 07 ML bull, it was 5 years old. Just by the size of the body I thought it would be a couple years older. It scored 330 as well.

I just got the data back for my 08 monroe archery bull. I had guessed him to be 7-8 years old, but the DWR aged him at a solid 12 years old. I rough scored him to be around 345 or so. He definately was the biggest bodied bull I have ever seen.

I drew the Central Manti Archery LE tag last year and shot a bull that ended up scoring 305, DWR emailed me today...tooth data has him at 8 years old.
