I have a non-hunting friend who lives in Raymond and I'd like to come up and visit him. But of course, all my vacations are hunt related.
Could anyone here be able to steer me in the right direction to bag a buck or bull with my bow ?
You wouldn't have to worry about me taking over your hot-spot as I live near the Mexican border. With the price of gas and the high non-resident tag fees, I'm certain that this would be a one-time event.
If you assist me on this I certainly could return the favor with an assist on an AZ archery deer and/or javelina hunt.

Unless you have an 'in' on some private ground, chances are good that you won't be stealing anyone's hotspot cause there aren't any hotspots! While Raymond is close to some decent elk country, it is also some very big, thick country. One doesn't just go out and glass for game. You have to spend a lot of time in the thick of it to find anything. I hunt the Western states regularly and would much rather spend the money for NR licenses in any neighboring state before I would shell out the money for resident tags in this state.

I lived and hunted in Raymond for more than ten years. Your chances of killing a good elk are slim and none, and slim is out of town. You will have to find a stump and put your name on it so you can sit there all season waiting for that trophy to come by. Oh by the way someone will be on the stump next to you. Please make your stump reservation at least a month before season starts.

Thanks for the insight. I guess my dream of downing a Rosie will be determined by the CA draw. What's worse is that I have less than max points.

I dont hunt the Raymond area but I am sure your within an hours drive of some good elk hunting, so dont let everyone talk you out of it.
