Idaho Unit 48 and 49 wolves/input

I am trying to figure out which unit is better. I am determined to kill a bull elk with my bow this season, and I am split between the two units. Unit 49 has better success rates, and more people, which makes me assume that there are more elk. Unit 48 has a slightly lower success rate, but higher percentage of 6+ point bulls taken. I have heard that the wolves have really hammered the elk in 49. I have hunted in both units, and have gotten close to elk in both units, but I want to maximize my chances of arrowing a bull this year, and the decision between the two units is killing me. I am mostly worried about the wolf impact in both units.

unit 48 has more wolves but unit 49 has more people. unit 48 has more mature bulls but 49 has more elk. so they kind of cancel each other out they both have some good elk hunting to be had, my hunting buddies pulled 5 bulls out of 49 in the archery last year nothing big but they had a good time. but another guy i know was chasing a couple bruisers around in 48 so scout hard stay away from people and you'll do fine

I have hunted deer in 48 the last 5 years. I have noticed a decrease in the amount of game, and 2 years ago started seeing lots of wolf tracks. I am sure there are still a few bulls in there. It is neat country. Good luck on your hunt.

Yeah I live in hailey so the units are relatively familiar, however I have yet to see a wolf in either unit. I just see their tracks and I DO NOT see elk.
