Hey guys
I found out that I drew a late november unit 15 bull tag. I am super stoked. This is the first out of state hunt that I have ever done.
Question is, where should I start? I've reviewed maps and google earthed it. I like what I see.

I am looking for a 350+ class bull. I know this is a tall order but I have shot a 365 in CO(now thats a tall order!) and I would like to take a super bull. I will be passing on 330 and smaller bulls.

I feel like I am an above average hunter and I will hike into steep and deep if I know opprituniy exists.

How will the november hunt be in regaurds to finding elk and the weather.

Any help???? PS I know a lot about western CO deer and elk ;)

the wolves are super thick in there now but if yor as serios as u say make plans to stop by my house and pick me up and drop me back off when were done and we might just be able to connect on a 370ish. 330 is not an issue but 350+ we have been seeing in the late hunt. I will state as I always do. if u want help im there but if ur just lookin for someone to spill their good spots then im not ur guy. hope this helps.

WesternSky, Congrats on drawing a great unit. Go deep and glass often. I like the late hunts in these units as it seems in my experience that the big boys seem to pop up more often than in earlier hunts. This isn't a sure thing at a 350+ bull but if you work hard and get lucky this unit will still produce some toads.

And, Stinky and Ty don't know squat about big bulls. They have a thing for shooting the first raghorn they see...which isn't often. Hah! I too will be hunting the same region come October this year so good luck. -Cody

Stinky, I have 3 guys going with me already. I cant a have too big of a hunting crew because that is only allowed in Utah. If i was headed to the Pavhant I would need about 12 more guys.
I am going to come down in July to look over the country. Can I pick you up for a scouting trip instead?

KTC Thanks for the well wishing. I'll send you a picture of the results (I'm probably going to need a bigger camera to get all the horn in the frame!!)

NMtrout. How has the moisture been in 15 this year? Its been wetter than average for this spring in western CO.

Sounds like there are plenty of possible areas across the unit. Let ask me ask this then. I like to set up on vantage points and let my swarovskis do the work. Sit there, find a 380, hike over to it and punch the tag.(simple right?? I wish). Are there any notable locations where I can set up and glass a lot of good country???

Also, it looks like there is a bunch of flatter,P&J, BlM land in the north west portion of the unit. In colorado, this is sometimes, the only type of country to find a decent bull. What do you think of this area in Nov. Is there any vantage points in this country??

August???? It will have to be late august which is bad cuz if it was july I could take you up to a certain spot and show you a 380 bull (based on the drought conditions). He summers and winters there but ruts somewhere only god knows. I will show you the trails to walk up and all. Leave your spotting scope at home cuz the only way to get these giants is to know what a giant track looks like and track them down. Once you find a big track I will give you an idea of their habits that way you know which drainage you can expect to find him in and not blow him out. I walked up on him in august last year looking for sheds and coulda shot him at 20 yards. He was a 330 ish the year before and last year he was pushing 370 in a drought year. May be the same bull and may not, but the last 3 years straight I've seen that bull using the same trail going to the same bedding area so I assume its the same bull. Who knows I may be wrong cuz these guys in NM do know me pretty well and I do call 120 class bulls 380. God I hope I can kill a 200 class bull in Utah this year ROFL!
