My dad finally drew a Panguitch tag after applying for who knows how many years. It has been many years since we have hunted in that area. I was wondering if any of you guys would offer any help or ideas on some good areas up there? We are not afraid to hike and work for the animals that we hunt. What can we expect to see in that unit these days? We are gonna try to do as much scouting as we can before the hunt but any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Don't know anything about that unit, but I did see on the news that there is a fairly large fire going on down there that was started by lightning.

I have been fortunate enough to have a couple of tags for this area. It is a tough hunt but there are some nice bulls taken there each year. I have had my dad, freinds, and several relatives also draw the tag over the years. Some of the biggest elk In have ever seen have been on that unit.

I archery hunted the unit as a NR last year. Pics of the bull are in the latest Huntin' Fool magazine(The Bucket List Bull). The bull I took wasn't the biggest I saw.

St. George. We have hunted elk there before but it has been quite a few years. We will be doing as much scouting as we can. Just wondering if anybody had any tips or ideas on some areas that produced. PM if you have any ideas. When i was younger we spent a little more time in that area and have seen some big bulls mostly in the winter time but i'm sure there are some dandys somewhere up there. It is going to a ton of fun that is for sure. I can't wait!
