Thousand lakes?

So having an archery fish lake thousand lakes tag in my pocket I have been doing a lot of scouting and I got to thinking. With my hunt starting the same day as the general archery deer and general archery elk I am going to be dealing with a lot of people on the fish lake side. But with the thousand lake side being limited entry deer that should weed out a lot of deer hunters. So my question is what is the elk heard like on that side? Are there any places I should check out? Is it even worth checking out or should I stick to the fish lake side? Any one got any ideas?

its not a long walk. I heard that the pennsylvania dow had a 440 bull leave last week and was spotted yesterday sleeping on the button.
