I drew this hunt one year when I had little time. It was a good meat filler as I met the guy at McDonalds at 4:00 and had an elk in my garage by 7:00.
They aren't very accomodating if you want to go and hunt. They have a few days set aside for a general hunt, but the area is very limited. The manager said he would call when the elk are down and would set up a time. I had to keep calling to get a slot in.
Terry Thatcher took us around. He was kind of uptight. Don't rely on his judgement for distance. He taught me a thing or two about elk though. It was a good hunt for the time, but I hope I never have another one like it again. I like to get out, hike, and explore.
