meat on the ground

I wounded and lost a buck this year with a muzzleloader, very sparse amount of blood that dried up quickly. But there was a little bit of meat on the ground where he was when I shot him.
Anyone ever see this before?

Muzzleloaders push a big pill dude, and cause lotsa damage, how could you be wounding animals? I think you are just trying to stir the pot. Get closer next time.

Well bud it was about an 80 yard shot, straight down hill, so I was unable to use a rest I had to shoot off hand and in Utah you are only allowed a 1x scope. Furthermore, the next buck which I did kill didn't have an exit wound, nor did several others in camp. Those things are tricker than you think.
