Ok guys where will the biggest bulls be harvested in 2009 ?

Will 2009 produce bigger bulls than 2008 ?

MONROE-
We know the famous monster there significantly went down down in size this year, will a new one appear??

BEAVER-
No doubt a pig or two will come off this one....

PAHVANT-
I hear there's a lot of eyes over there looking at something???

WASATCH-
This one always gives us at least one surprise.

BOULDER-
You left this one out bullmaniac, wtf??
Never leave this one out! ;-)

DUTTON-

I am throwing in 2 wildcards that i have personally seen 2 great bulls on already.

Seen a pretty nice one on Panguitch Lake last weekend too... I am going with the sleepers this year.

I think it has potential to be a better year than '08 for antler growth with a few monsters coming from quite a few different units, but the vast majority of them will be from the Southern end of the state.

The Wasatch may even kick out a 380+ or two ;-)

My top three pics are Beaver, Boulder, and San Juan as of right now. With Monroe kicking out one super biggie.
 
San Juan should never be left out of this conversation...EVER!!

I think opinions are based on what 06 and 07 were like. Everyone is chalking up 08 as a fluke. I am not buying it. We wont see another year like 06 or 07 again. The real big bulls will be harder to come by IMO. The theory of more water and Miracle Grow on the antlers is a bunch of hooey in Utah.

How is that for glass half empty!;-)
 
no hope for the manti or what? i dont understand how the wasatch would produce bigger bulls than the manti i thought they were about 6's.

Not a big manti fan, but there's gonna be a toad come off of there this year. Also, I'll throw one in for North Cache, just because no one else did.;-)

Will try to comfirm which one of Mossbacks dudes it is. Due to that the hog of the year is Pahvant! Lets all have a blanket party on Pahvant over the 24th! Who's inn????
 
The gila has cut back some on there tags the last few years. I think NM will produce a few decent ones this year. Maybe a couple over 400
 
lets be real... every limited entry unit in utah has a chance to go 400+... Anyone who has a tag to any limited entry should be scouting their nuts off cuz their is always a possibility... I have seen some toads just on general bull units... I am jealous of anyone that has a tag... Just deer for me :(

Thanks Z we are going to have fun and hopefully find a bull of a lifetime.

I know i will be hunting with some of the best guides in the business on one of the best elk units in the US.

The rest is up to the man upstairs and lots of hard work.

AZ!!!!!!!!!!!!! This year is sick on horn growth. I've seen some real pigs plus heard of alot better. I guess we will see come Dec. who kicked out the best!!!! This year will be fun for sure! good luck everyone!!!!!!!!

One Things for Sure 60 days from now there will be some Big Bulls on the ground !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With how utah manages their animals, id be suprised to see 1 400 bull this year.

Dont count out Panguitch Lake, Indian Peaks, or the Manti either. I think these may be our sleeper units this year. No doubt there will be monsters taken off of Monroe, Pahvant and the other units mentioned, I think that these other sleeper units will just add to Utah's monster bull resume. Good luck to ALL who have tags, and I hope that you all make good with ur permits with a big ol-stinky

I would not be suprized to see the Book cliffs pull out something freaky. This spring I seen some local boyz pick up some dang nice shed horns 396 as a 5x6 just to name one set. I have also been hearing a few things about the books probably not the biggest but I would not be suprized. Ya never know
 
I just spoke with a friend of mine in unit 9 Arizona and they have found two bulls over the magic 400 mark ....Sounds like Arizona is rockin for you guys with those great tags.

You early Boulder holders better leave a scrap or two for the me on the late hunt. Of course that's when real men hunt anyway!

As pointed out The San Juan can't be pushed aside, It just might have the top bull in UT on it this year. I think the top bull will come from a sleeper unit and not the DUTTON. LOL

I have been scouting the Cache units for my spike hunt and because my wife lets me go out whenever I want to. Her little Honda Civic gets 38 mpg and I can get it about anywhere and then hike my but off. I went on a 12 mile backpacking trip on the Cache North and didn't see anything.

I say

1- Pahvant
2- San Juan
3- Boulder
4- Beaver
5- Monroe
6- Wasatch
7- Dutton
8- Book Cliffs
9- Fish Lake
10- Manti
11- Panguitch Lake
12- Cache

Look for some big bulls to come off Cedar Mountain on the Zion Unit...there are always some good bulls taken off there and the private property people will get some toads on there this year.

Then I would look for someone in some off the walls unit to round a corner and luck into a beast.
 
If you are not seeing them on the North Cache then you are not looking.

There is going to be a 400" bull come off that unit this year. There is going to be at least 10 people with 350+ bulls from that unit. The great thing is people will not hear about it.
 
Just got back from horseback in the Bookcliffs... My bet is this unit.... Saw a few huge bucks this year... and several bulls that will net over 370-390.... Gross??? Who knows... GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT DREW!!!!! I WILL DRAW NEXT YEAR I HOPE!!
 
Based upon what i have been hearing and the horn growth this year , i would bet there are going to be some great bulls harvested this year from UTAH< ARIZONA AND NEW MEXICO.
