Sorry guys, this is the best picture I have right now. I forgot my digital camera on the hunt, so I'll have to wait for my cousin to get some film developed for in the field photos.

Not a monster, but a nice buck none the less. Typical 4x4, but only has one eye guard. Goes about 23" wide. I'd like to say I spotted him bedded across a deep canyon and made a long stalk and a great shot, but the truth is, I was headed back to camp for breakfast about 10:00am yesterday (Sunday) when I saw this guy hunkered down in some oak brush right off side the dirt two track. I bailed off my fourwheeler, grabbed my Winchester Model 70 .300H&H outta the rack, jacked in a shell, and let him have a 180gr Silver Tip. He ran about 20 yards and piled up.

This was the only buck I saw all weekend and I wore off a lot of shoe leather Saturday and earlier Sunday.

It was plenty hot, so I cleaned him, loaded him up, and hauled @$$ for the locker. Should be some fine chewing. I'm gonna mount the antlers on a plaque and hang em' in my reloading room.

Nice buck. Hey, no since chasin' 'em across a canyon if they're laying next to the road. That's huntin'. Take your opportunities no matter how they come about.

Congrats,

WH

Like I always say.....I'd rather be lucky than good ANYTIME! :) Nice buck, next to the road, easy recovery.....shoot everyone deserves an easy one like that once in a while. Glad it came together for you, congratulations.
