So what would he score, and secondly, at what point in the hunt would you take him? First day? Last day after you haven't seen anything else?

I would take a shot the first opportunity I got! :)

"Now we come to the most important pre-season question. Do you just want to go elk hunting, or do you want to bring one back? If you desire the latter, there is no substitute for hard work. The bigger your goal, the harder the work required to get there. Good luck!" - Cameron R. Hanes

He is exactly what I like in "typical" bulls (other than a little short on the thirds)!!!

He would be shot on sight opening day!!(probably)
The high fourth's will put him up there and the way the rack lays back is cool as ssshhhhhhttt!! Very "PRETTY" bull!!

He should finish out around the 340-350 mark or pretty close!!

LAST EDITED ON Jul-30-09 AT 04:45PM (MST)[p]id say solid 350 has great fronts!and good mass. nice beams. i say all around shooter bull, opening mornig i wouldnt pass!

I think he is 335-350 bull.

I would NOT shoot him. I only have a spike tag, and cannot figure out how to sneak a big bull off of the unit I am hunting. :)

I would say 335 give or take, due to the short thirds. He is still a nice bull. I would probably let the air out of him

most people would shoot this bull opening day, but i guess it depends where you are hunting?

Great fronts,a little weak on the thirds and not great whale tails in the back.Still a 340 class bull and tough not to shoot when he comes screaming at 20 yards. With my unit 9 archery bull tag this year I will pass a lot of bulls of this size--I hope!!!

>In Utah- Central Mountains Manti Archery
>tag...

With that tag, unless you are seeing monster bulls and have bigger bulls on the wall I would recommend you shoot that bull if given the chance.

great looking bull....Im thinking just shy of 350

there are some tags that I would not fill with that bull,

but not very dam many!!!

I killed a 340 class bull and he looks smaller then this one.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

My brother had that tag last year. If you don't shoot him early, he will disappear when the rut hits. During the early part of the hunt, the bulls are patternable, but once you get close to september, they start looking for cows and the areas that you will find the bulls in changes. Take him. Nice bull with a bow no matter where you hunt.

Between 360-370 but a solid 360 class bull. Would I shoot him opening morning yes and no depending on what unit I had and the number of bigger bulls I've had seen in that unit. Great bull thanks for posting.

I would say he is pushing 340 in these pictures but could still put on a few more inches in the next two weeks. Archery tag, on the Manti...I would personally keep this bull on the backburner for now until you can't find anything bigger. Don't get me wrong he is a great bull for archery but there are some up there that are a little bigger than this boy... good luck on the hunt. Just keep your eyes open and have fun. Post us some pics on here when you bring one home.

highly doubt that bull is much bigger than 330 right now. i have a manti central tag as well and i promise you if i see that bull he's dead.... if i can hit him

LR hunter

i think everyone is guessing low .he has like 18 inch fronts i bet! and at least that on his swords or more decent beam length it looks short on the side pic but i think its decieving... look at the rack compared to the elk ears and head its bigger than 330!

unless you've taken something bigger, it's a 1st day shooter. don't pass on something on day 1 you would shoot on the last day is my opinion....been burned too many times personally

With an archery tag, you better shoot him as FAST as you can, especially on the Manti. I learned the hard way. I passed alot of bulls this size my first tag on the manti 4 years ago. Only had 1 chance last year with the same manti archery tag. 2 tag soups.

Never pass on something early in the hunt you will shoot the last day. You may never get another chance, I PROMISE!!!

I would put this bull at the 340 mark, weak 3rds (typical on manti). Not extremely long main beams, but a sweeeeet A bull. If you have the chance, You better arrow this bull asap, or let the lead fly.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-02-09 AT 07:55PM (MST)[p]i hope you kill this bull i think he will surprise everyone! hes a solid bull kill him so we can put this guess to rest! his fronts are awesome i think it makes the 3rd look smaller than it really is

I would guess around 325 340 great bull photo none the less great public land bull if it wasn't a once on a liftime utah bull tag.
