Finally my hunt starts

Go get em and make it count. Above all, enjoy the tag, those late hunts are something special. I wish I could do that hunt every year. Take lots of godd pics of that big one you are going to get!

Good luck and have fun. It sure it hard to wait. When I had a late hunt permit everyone told me to wait tell the 2nd week to hunt when those big bucks move in. I hope you get some weather to help you.

Alright boys and girls. I finally get to start hunting come Nov. 1st. Its been so hard just sitting back and seeing all these bucks being taken. And hunting with my buddies and helping get their deer. Now its my turn. Will be hunting the Swakane Unit late buck hunt. 1st thru the 18th. Gonna try to hold out for that pig. Hope i will bring back some stories and some pictures.

Garrett, We don't know how well you know the Swakane unit. The weather has definately begun to cooperate and the big migrators are beginning to arrive at the western end of the unit. For now we would suggest that you ignore the Swakane Canyon and all of the Columbia River breaks (unless you want a "local" buck). Hunt the western end as far east as Roaring Creek; that's where the high mountain bucks are coming in. Have fun; that "pig" is out there; send photos.

Thanks for the comments guys. Icicle- thank you for the advice, hopefully you will keep me posted. I do know the area pretty well, but not hunting well if you get what i mean. Never had the tag so never hunted it hard this time of year. I am really excited for this hunt.

Sam- Hey man havent touched base with you for a bit. You will have to shoot me an email and give me an update. All i keep thinking about is your hunt last year same and all those deer you and i looked at. Hopefully i will see a buck like that little "forky" that you got.

I am heading out on Saturday for my late Chiwawa hunt. It looks like the weather is cooperating nicely.
