panguitch big bulls?

LAST EDITED ON Aug-04-09 AT 07:07PM (MST)[p]ok i know someone on here has had to have spent some time on panguitch lake unit this year! ive done lots of scouting still not found a bull of my dreams yet i have found some very nice ones but still lookin for bigger....so if you have seen any monsters lately and dont mind sharing please pm... im not looking for an easy way out i have put the time in i just have not found the one yet...370+ ers
anayway i know they are there so im gonna keep hikin away till the hunt gets here!

i just want eye witness accouts not where they usually are i have hit every hot spot on top of the mountain just cant find the monsters maybe my timing is off and im not there at the right times. ive hammered from mitchells to lowder ,red des, sydney a little in bunker.and everywhere inbetween.. where are they! spent the last month in a half 2-3 times a week hikin around and have a few cams up but just nothin over 350's

im usaully pretty layed back but its been a long week had a death of a friend and been on the tractor non stop and am just plumb tired and wore out! anyway i have video of the bucks but it didnt turn out i was too far and didnt have my tripod to stablize it! kinda bummed but havent been able to get any good pics or vids since but gonna try tommorw or friday. why did you put in for elk if ya are abigger deer fan y not henrys or pauns??

well elk are a differetn kind of fun than deer in my opinion i dont care what im hunting as long as it has big antlers or horns and is lives in north america! thats what i like!

Ox, those big bulls are nocturnal. The really big ones in SE NM go nocturnal most of the year. The gila giants do the same. I have friends in Idaho who say the same about their giant bulls as well. You usually only get to see them about 30 minutes past first light then they are laid down. Get some trail cams out over water and trails. I assure you there are at least a few giant bulls. Just don't expect to see them in daylight hours and don't get discouraged. Put the night cameras out and watch em light up after hours. BTW: I thought you only fought with me????? That kinda hurts; you duke'n it out with someone else. I feel like I just got cheated on!

I agree with stinky. I live in WA and its the same thing. Scout the best units and you might see a decent bull once in awhile but once september rolls around the big bulls start showing up. I wouldn't worry to much.

+2 stinky! Almost all of the really big bulls I have on camera are taken from midnight to 4 am. #1 it's hot during the day. #2 they are starting to get a lot of pressure whether it be from scouters, campers or hikers. Increasing traphic has made them more nocturnal.
