Are you a score person or how it looks person?

Have, When, or If you ever draw a LE elk tag are you a score person or a how the bull looks person.
Me personally I am a how it looks person, I have seen some bigger bulls 380-400 that I wouldn't shoot because they are not that impressive. and I have seen some medium bulls 350-360 that I would shoot. I really like a huge back end on bulls, long 4th's and big whales tail.

So what will you go after? Score or looks?

Looks. But there's usually a pretty strong correlation between looks and score. I probably wouldn't shoot a 300 bull on the first day because he looks good. And I certainly wouldn't pass up a 400 bull ANY day because he looks a little silly.

+1 I'd probably take the 370 symetrical bull over a 410 freak if they were standing next to each other....but if they weren't then I'd shoot the first one of the two standing alone. Either one is better than a rag-horn on the last evening after passing up the mature one earlier in hopes of the monster.

Looks do it for me every time. I have the Wasatch rifle tag this year, and I am looking for something that catch's my eye.

I like a nice even rack but with that said to me it is the hunt and how satisfying it was. I would rather shoot a 350 bull on the last day of a ten day back country hunt filled with encounters. Than to shoot a 380 bull when i stepped out of the truck on the first morning, just my two (2) cents-Hatrick

Looks for sure! I love the bulls with fronts that go way out then up.

In order:
1. Mass;
2. Character, meaning a typical with lots of curves and knarls;
3. Long cowcatcher fronts;
4. Long curvy beams;
5. Monster whaletail;
6. Swords to the sky;
7. Width.
8. All of the above - gives you a monster score.
I guess that makes me greedy if I like them all, but give me the first few and I'm a happy camper. The Lord blessed me with the first 5 last year, going for broke this year although I'm good with just getting up close and personal with a good one or two and having the hairs stand up on my neck.
Does that make me a bad man?
