i hear it alot. how many 400"+ bulls have you seen in your lifetime.

I can't even count them on 2 hands,
ZERO!!!!
There are definetly alot more seen
then there are killed, when I had
my LE Muzzy tag I talked to 4 or 5
locals during my hunt that would
say there's a 380 bull just down
the road, or a 370 bull in this
canyon.
I would spend half a day to find out
they were 330 to 340 bulls.
2006 in my books, was an awesome year
in Utah, I don't know if we will ever
see that many 400 gross bulls killed
in one year like that again in my
lifetime, and I am only 36.

A grand total of 1. My son and I hunted him for 3 days before another hunter killed him. He later net scored 407.
May have seen a couple more but until you put the tape to them you cannot be sure.

I've seen a few dozen. One in the Logan Zoo and a bunch in steroid laden pens. I've never seen a 400" bull in the wild. I'm pretty sure it's a mythical creature not like rainbow unicorns and green leprechauns.

395 is the closest i have come. it was on my dads hunt and I only know the score because another hunter shot him

Seen 2 on the hoof. One grossed over 400 the other grossed 397.

In 3 years chasing bulls on one Utah LE unit, I can say for certain I saw one. I saw one more that could have possible been that big, but without putting a tape on him I could not say for sure. He was probably smaller than 400, but he was in the vicinity IMO.
Some guys around here want you to believe they are all over the place. They get on here and brag how they see 4-5 of the each weekend. I know that is all bs. When I hear 400 this and 400 that I just let it go in one ear and out the other. If anyone ever promises you a 400 anywhere just laugh at them cuz they are full of chit.

The only one I have ever seen is in Crested Butte, Colorado hanging in the Welcome Center.

Mostly behin ever tree n bush in Arrowzoni & Utar. Hiden in evey 2nd or thrd canyonn in New mexika, and a few scattered around Wioming.
I hers you can hardly shoot an arrow or bullit without hittin one in the Moantany breaks.
The biggest bull I have ever seen in the wild would probably go 375 or so. I'm sure a lot of people would have called him 400. If I ever see a real 400, with a tag in my pocket, I'll probably soil myself and launch an arrow 20 ft over his back.

I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY OF THE 450"+ BULLS LIKE THEY PULLED OFF AN LE UNIT RECENTLY!!!

Forget 400" elk, they are everywhere just like 200" deer. I am having a hard time finding a 400" buck to fill my dedicated hunter tag with! Gotta be choosey on that stupid hunt, nothing under 400".

I live in the heart of elk country and have seen one for sure and possibly two others. It takes alot of bone to get to the magic mark. Watched bull I thought for sure was over 400. Picked his sheds up a year later and they barely cracked 390.

I know of one that we said was a 400 but he only scored 397 3/8 when he was killed, So I'm going to have to say Dead and scored 400 that would be a no.
Now another bull we thought would go 400 was shot and "We was told" it scored 403 but I didn't see it on the ground dead so Can't claim that one either.
"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".
I know of one that we said was a 400 but he only scored 397 3/8 when he was killed, So I'm going to have to say Dead and scored 400 that would be a no.

The question was HOW MANY 400 BULLS have you seen. I thought I had see 2 for sure BUT ONE "ONLY" scored 397 so HE DIDN"T SCORE 400,(so doesn't count) Now if the question was how mant 400" elk have you seen that come close to 400" I would inculde him. LOL. Now the bull is "ONLY 50" bigger then one I killed BUT it like night and day in size different a 397 bull is HUGE my "LITTLE" (348) is a Dink in compares.

We have one hear in the nature park, that will go 390. He is at least 8 years old. You cannot kill em off before there 6 plus years old and expect 400 bulls. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Down hear in MM LOs have taken us off the map for competing with arizona and utah. We were tops in the early/mid nineties. LOs starting shooting elk to get more tags. Now if we TRULY get a couple this year, it would be encouraging. they did cut back on tags some a couple years ago.

Killerbee...does the 400" bull picked up in the Ochoco's 25 years ago count? I got to hold them in my hands years ago.
I've seen three live bulls that were 375-380 class here in Oregon.

3 that I know for sure. One was the Degglebeck bull killed on the Wasatch that I chased around for days with my archery tag. The next was one that came off that unit near Filmore? I actually watched that one drop from a distance. The other I have not heard of nor seen anyone kill but I have his sheds and have seen him a couple of times. I do believe he's still alive.

I have seen 1 and my brother missed him at 30 yards a couple of years ago .................
And harvested him 2 days later with a bow at 20 yds..............

I shot a bull two days later that scored 386 gross and i am still trying to catch my brother as that was his first elk hunt ever.........406
Hopefully i will be as blessed on my hunt this year on the Beaver unit...............
